Modern Bridal Shower Games & Activities

Help the bride-to-be have fun before her special day.

A bridal shower is a last send-off for the bride-to-be, allowing the lucky woman to bid adieu to single life and prepare to embrace wedded bliss. A modern bridal shower is also a great time for brides to bond with friends and family, sharing laughs and special moments. There are many games and activities to celebrate the event, so trade in the tired exotic dancer routine for something more fun.

Bridal Trivia

Play a fun trivia game with questions about the bride.

Create a fun trivia game with the help of family and friends to delve into past of the bride-to-be. Write the questions on index cards and determine a host for the game to oversee teams of party-goers competing to see who knows the bride best. The questions can range from simple topics, such as the name of the bride's high school, to racy tidbits about her love life and adventures as a single woman. Keep a few particularly challenging questions set aside for a sudden-death round in the event of a tie, and award prizes to the winning team.

Spa Day

Enjoy a spa day with the bride to be.

Weddings are wonderful, but can be stressful for the bride, her family and members of the wedding party. To relax, book a group spa day for the afternoon of the bridal shower, allowing everyone to partake of pampering treatments. Many salons offer group discounts, allowing attendees to save money on manicures, pedicures, massages and more. Book the spa day close to the wedding so guests can be primped for the big day. With freshly polished nails and glowing skin, everyone will look wonderful in the wedding photos.

The No-Name Game

The Bridal Shower website suggests presenting every guest with a wearable charm, such as an inexpensive bracelet or necklace, and stating that the celebrated couple can only be referred to by the terms "bride" and "groom." When one guest hears another slip up, they can take their piece of jewelry. At the end of the party, tally up everyone's charms, and give the guest who has collected the most a special prize.

Pub Crawl

Visit all of the bride's old haunts to help her say goodbye to her old way of life. Dress the bride up in special attire, like a mini-veil, a sash designating her special status and a feather boa. Find something special for the other partiers to wear as well, like funny hats or glasses, creating a spirited group atmosphere, and visit a series of pubs, clubs and bars for drinks. Make sure transportation between venues and back home is arranged in advance to prevent any tipsy friends from getting behind the wheel.
