1920sinspired Wedding Gowns

Wedding dresses inspired by 1920s looks are often straight and simple.

Dresses in the 1920s were often straight with dropped waistlines. Other characteristics of 1920s fashion include mid-calf length dresses, uneven hemlines and the use of fringing, beads and pearls on dresses. These styles also translate to many 1920s vintage-inspired wedding dresses. In addition, women who wear this look on their big day often accompany the dress with a feathered or beaded veil to mimic the "flapper" look.

Dolly Couture

Shortened or mid-calf-length wedding dresses were first introduced in the 1920s by fashion designer Coco Chanel. The shortened wedding dress went in and out of style throughout the decades, but is most well-known as a 1920s and 1950s look.

Dollycouture.com makes this style of dress that is inspired by the introduction of the shortened dress in the 1920s and the return of the dress in the 1950s. The dress has a flowered bodice and a tool skirt.

Klassic Line

Tias.com offers the Klassic Line label that takes inspiration from the fringe and beaded styles of the 1920s. Klassic Line designs a satin vintage wedding dress with six rows of both fringe and sequins. Also included with the dress is a matching sequin and feather headband. The "flapper" look is straight and flowing, so it does not define the waist.

The Vintage Wedding Dress Company

Thevintageweddingdresscompany.com offers a collection of 1920s-inspired lace wedding dresses featuring the classic '20s dropped waist look. French lace and silk crepe de chine are the materials used on this design. The dress can be customized to each bride's liking. The dress also features a dropped neck.

Kathryn & Alexandra

Bridesandjokers.com offers the Kathryn & Alexandra fashion line. These designers create a 1920s-inspired bridal gown out of four-ply silk crepe. The gown incorporates plenty of '20s fashion elements including a simple neckline, long sleeves, beads, pearls, a tight bodice and the classic dropped waistline. The company also specializes in period headpieces and veils.
