Steps To Make Hands Print Art

Young children are fascinated by what they can do with their hands. They are always trying new ways in which to use them. What better way to satisfy this fascination then to help them make art with their hand prints. Follow these steps for ideas.

Instructions

1. Make a Christmas wreath of small hands. Trace 8 to 10 handprints on a colored paper of your choice. Cut them out and glue them together at the wrists with the fingers pointing outward. Decorate with glitter, glue sequins and ribbons.

2. Cut out a paper plate in to the shape of a wreath. Now cut out 24 handprints and write 1 good deed on each. Every day starting December 1st perform one of the good deeds then glue it to the wreath. On Christmas day tie a big red ribbon to the wreath.

3. Create an Easter lily by tracing your child's hand onto some white paper and cutting it out. Without creasing it fold the thumb and little finger so the fingertips of them touch and glue it together. Fold up the heel of the handprint and glue it to the thumb and little finger. Attach a green strip of construction paper for the stem.

4. Design a spider by painting your hand, except the thumb, with black paint. Press it onto a piece of orange construction paper with the finger pointing out. Now paint your hand again, except the thumb and press it on the paper with the heel of your hand overlapping the heel of the previous hand print. Draw on eyes with white chalk once the paint dries.

5. Paint your hand with brown paint and press it on construction paper to make a turkey. Dip your finger in red paint and press it beneath the thumb of the hand print to make a gobbler. Stick on feathers and glue on eyes.
