A fall leaf turkey is a great way to bring the outdoors inside with beautiful fall leaves. This decoration can be used all the way up to Thanksgiving and makes a good decoration for your wall or refrigerator. You can even use them for greeting cards or to decorate for a party. Make a whole flock together as a family for even more fun together.
Instructions
1. Draw a turkey body on the brown construction paper. It can be an oval or a pear shape, and you can decorate it using the black marker so that the lines will show up on the brown paper. Your turkey should be fairly large so that you can give him a big fan tail of leaves.
2. Cut out your turkey outline as well as a wiggly red shape for his wattle and a yellow triangle for his beak.
3. Glue the google eyes, beak and wattle to the turkey's face. You should also do any other drawing or customizing that you wish to do at this time, as once you glue the turkey's tail on he will be much harder to draw on.
4. Glue the leaves to the back of the turkey in a fan. Most of the leaf should stick out past the construction paper, but make sure that at least an inch of each leaf is glued to the construction paper to make sure that they do not fall off.
5. Let your turkey dry. This may take several hours because you will have used a fair amount of glue on both sides of the paper. Once he is dry, you can hang him on the wall or tape him to the fridge for a great seasonal decoration.
