Recycle jars creatively.
Baby food jars are ubiquitous in any house with a young baby. Instead of throwing away the empty jars, put them to good use by making fun and easy crafts that will brighten up your house and provide some amusement or entertainment for your kids as well. Animals made from baby food jars double as a learning tool for young kids, and you can also let slightly older kids exercise their creativity by making them with you.
Instructions
1. Clean the baby food jar thoroughly and let dry completely. Remove the label and any glue left behind from the label.
2. Fill the jar with pompoms, depending on the animal you are making. For rabbits, fill with white pompoms or use yellow pompoms for a chick.
3. Put the lid back on the jar and turn the jar upside down. Use glue to affix the wiggle eyes on the jar, putting them in the appropriate position.
4. Cut foam into appropriate shapes to make a beak, ears, or nose. You can also use a small pompom for a nose. Glue the foam pieces on the jar.
5. Cut a long piece of the foam about ¼ inch wide and glue it around the edge of the lid to hide the lid to create a neck-like separator. Let the baby food jar animal dry completely.
