Use your creativity to put together a simple Native American costume.
When your daughter announces she needs to dress as a Native American for a school program the next day, you will need to to pull together a costume as quickly as possible. Check the craft cupboard and the closet for supplies, use your creativity and let your daughter help.
Instructions
1. Use the scissors to cut 1/2-in.-wide fringe around the bottom of the shirt and the pant legs.
2. Embellish the costume, using felt to create a motif to glue on the shirt. An eagle or animal shape or even stripes or zigzags will add definition. Cut the designs out of the felt and glue them in place. Allow the glue to dry.
3. Decorate the costume further by sewing or gluing beads around the felt decorations and the cuffs. Thread fringe pieces through the holes of large beads. Thread additional beads for necklaces.
4. Make a headband with a 2-in.-wide strip of construction paper. Fit the headband to the child's head and staple the overlap. Draw and cut out colored feather shapes from construction paper and staple them to the front of the headband.
