Martini Centerpiece Ideas
Martini centerpiece ideas can be used for cocktail, birthday, New Year's and retirement parties. Martini glasses tend to have thin glass and delicate stems, so it's important to handle them carefully. Or avoid the risk by using large, plastic, novelty, martini glass vases. Big or small, lined or stacked, martini centerpieces provide elegant lines that help refine any decoration style.
Line Them Up
Use normal martini glasses to create a long, thin centerpiece down the middle of a rectangular table. To keep things simple, tie a white ribbon in a bow around the bottom of each glass stem, add a little water to the glass and drop a white floating candle into the water. You can also use melt-and-pour wax or gel candles and wicks to fill each glass with a colorful candle. Line the glasses down the middle of the table and scatter a few flower petals around the glass bases.
Another idea is to dry some whole, green olives with a paper towel and use them to fill the glasses for a unique martini centerpiece. Fill each martini glass full with the olives, and center a single, large, white orchid with green-tipped petals on top. Similarly, line the decorative glasses down the center of the table.
Stack Them Up
Stacking martini glasses is a task you want to do slowly and carefully to prevent problems. You will need to stack the glasses in a pyramid shape, not a tower shape, to create a secure martini centerpiece. Fill 11 clear martini glasses with sparkling yellow glass decorative stones, and top each one with a small, white rose. Place seven glasses in a tight circle in the middle of the table. Stack three glasses on top of the tight circle of glasses and one on top of the three glasses.
Use a variety of materials for filler to change the style of a stacked martini centerpiece. For example, fill each glass with a mixture of white, black and cream carnation petals, then place a sparkling cream feather flower in the top glass for a modern style. Or, fill the glasses with clear decorative stones, colorful glitter confetti and tiny curls of metallic ribbon, and stack them into a pyramid to create a New Year's martini centerpiece.
Go Large
Fill giant martini-glass-shaped vases with almost any decorative element to create a martini centerpiece. Add flower blossoms or votive candles to the top of a decorative rock-filled martini glass vase, float flowers or votive candles in a martini glass vase with a few decorative rocks and some colored water, or fill the vase with pieces of fresh fruit for a healthy edible centerpiece or individually wrapped candies for a sweet edible centerpiece.
Another idea is to wrap the martini vase stem with red ribbon and add a large, round, cascading bouquet of flowers for a romantic martini centerpiece with a touch of elegance. Start the arrangement with a few pieces of green ivy falling over the rim of the vase and add some red roses, pink roses, white rosebuds, ferns and baby's breath.
