Focal point Suggestions For A Tall Whitened Flower

Centerpieces help incorporate the tables with the decor.

No matter what the occasion is, tall white flowers incorporated into your centerpiece go well with just about any decor. Creating the centerpieces does not require a lot of time or money, but it can look as if you spent a small fortune on the flower arrangements. When choosing a tall, white flower, take into consideration your budget and what ambiance you are trying to create.

Calla Lilies

Grown from a bulb, calla lilies reach heights of up to 3 feet and feature a large, trumpet-shaped bloom. There are several ways to incorporate calla lilies into your centerpiece. Wrap a ribbon around a tall, clear vase with a ribbon color that matches your theme. The location of the ribbon depends strictly on your preference. For example, you might tie the ribbon in the middle with a bow or glue on a ribbon just long enough to fit around the lower half of the vase. Place crystal-colored rocks in the bottom of the vase and add a few inches of water. Put the desired amount of cut calla lilies into the vase and set it in the center of the table.

White Orchids

White orchids provide a highbrow feel to any decor, and if you have the money in your budget to splurge, white orchids seldom disappoint. Several species of white orchids are available. However, the white cymbidium orchid has a long vase life and works well for bouquets and centerpieces. In addition, the white cymbidium orchid stem grows to lengths of 23 inches and typically produces 8 to 11 blooms per stem. A few white orchid stems in a simple vase may be all you need for an elegant centerpiece. For a striking look, place white orchids in cobalt blue glass vases.

Long-Stemmed White Carnations

White carnations are generally a cheaper option when it comes to fresh flowers. However, do not let the inexpensive price tag fool you. Long-stemmed white carnations are a beautiful and elegant flower with a down-home charm. Fill vases with long-stemmed white carnations until the blooms appear to be overflowing from the top of the vase. For a farmer's market look, place the vases in white lunch bags and tie the top with twine.

White Irises

Available in various colors, irises grow from a bulb and feature a showy bloom on a long stalk. When creating the arrangement, use tall, white irises for the middle of the centerpiece and surround them with shorter flowers of a different color. For example, if your party takes place during the holiday season, use red carnations or red roses around the white irises. For autumn parties, use orange and rust-colored Gerber daisies to surround the white irises. Weeks before your event takes place, begin saving jars of varying sizes. After thoroughly cleaning the jars, spray paint them white -- or any coordinating color -- and let them dry for several hours.
