Homemade Wedding Focal point Suggestions For A Black & Whitened Theme

Buy wholesale white flowers to save money.

Planning a formal dinner or reception for a wedding, usually requires some form of table decor. Consider homemade centerpieces for each table if you are planning a wedding reception. If your color scheme is black and white, you can make your own black and white centerpieces at home, without paying high costs for pre-made or custom centerpieces.

Floral Arrangements

Create a black and white floral arrangement by selecting flowers that typically grow in white. Choose flowers such as daisies, roses, lilies, lilacs, orchids or any other flower that is white. To incorporate black into the arrangement, spray paint some branches with black spray paint, and add them to your arrangement. Place the arrangement into a black vase or other container.

Cupcake Centerpiece

Bake devil's food cake cupcakes and frost them with white icing to create a black and white edible centerpiece. Do not use a milk-chocolate based cake because it will look brown rather than black. The devil's food cake will give you the closest shade to black, unless you want to add food coloring before baking. Place the cupcakes on a multitiered cupcake stand for display at the center of each table. Use cake-decorating candies like sprinkles or dark chocolate shavings to add some more black onto the top of each cupcake.

Balloon Centerpiece

Place a balloon bouquet on each table. Use black and white balloons together in a bouquet or use either black or white balloons and use the other color for the ribbons holding them. Use a black or white object as a weight. You can purchase balloon weights at any party supply shop or use a paper weight or knickknack. Cut the strings for the balloons at different lengths to adjust the height of each balloon and create a "bunch" formation.

Candle Centerpiece

Purchase some candelabras for each table. Use spray paint to paint them black, and place them at the center of each table over an unframed mirror. To add some extra white color to the mirror, drape some white lace material over it before placing the candelabras on top. Place white candles in the candelabra to add white to the top of the centerpiece.

For a more "earthy" candle arrangement, paint a large, shallow, wooden bowl black with acrylic paint. Place white and black stones into the bowl, and snugly place white tea light candles in between the stones at the surface.
