Table Designing Suggestions For Kids Birthday Parties With Hot Pink & Zebra Print

Touches of hot pink will "wake up" the basic zebra pattern colors.

Zebra print party decor accented with hot pink makes for an eye-catching but slightly extravagant theme. The color and pattern can be used to celebrate a little girl's birthday, or for a party where an adult is the guest of honor. There are several ways to bring these two decorative components together in a visually appealing way that matches the birthday girl's tastes.

Tablecloths

A zebra-print tablecloth can serve as the main attraction for the party table -- you can even add a hot pink lace or satin border or tassels to bring the two themes together. Adorn the table with a hot pink cloth and place a zebra-print runner in the center of the table. A tablecloth that showcases both colors and patterns equally is an aesthetically pleasing idea as well. For instance, cut hot pink fabric in shapes like stars, hearts, high-heeled shoes or lips and sew them onto a zebra tablecloth. For the reverse effect, use small zebra-print cutouts of the guest of honor's initials and sew them in random positions on a bright pink tablecloth.

Centerpieces

Choose a zebra print vase and fill it with synthetic bright pink roses for a sophisticated centerpiece that makes the party theme apparent. You can even spray the flowers with hot pink or silver glitter to make the centerpiece more attractive, or tie a hot pink ribbon around the center of the vase. Choose a hot pink vase or shallow dish and fill it with synthetic bamboo sticks that you've spray-painted in black and white stripes to resemble zebra print. You can also make an edible centerpiece for the party by filling a neon pink cake plate with cookies iced to look like a zebra's stripes. Accent the display with small candies wrapped in hot pink paper.

Additional Accents

Decorate the rest of the table with small accents that help to bring the hot pink and zebra party theme together. For instance, line up zebra-print noisemakers that you've accented with hot pink synthetic feathers for guests to use during the birthday party and take home as favors. Fill small, bright pink candle holders with black-and-white striped candles, and line the candles up along the center of the table. If you can't find striped candles, fill each candle holder with either a black or white candle, and use zebra-print ribbon to tie around each holder.

Flatware and Napkins

Choose zebra print napkins to display on the table with hot pink flatware to showcase both color schemes together. This flatware and napkin arrangement will look great paired with solid black, white or pink plates and cups. Select zebra-print napkin rings to house bright pink cloth napkins. The pop of color will be especially attractive next to solid black chargers and flatware that is either black or white. You can also adorn the table with large utensils that have zebra-print handles, such as the knife or serving spatula for the birthday cake.
