Roxbury Community College
Roxbury Community College is located in Roxbury Crossings, Massachusetts, which is 15 minutes southwest of Boston. RCC is a two year college that provides students with an associate degree of their choice of study. Students can train to become a practical nurse at Roxbury. The nursing program at Roxbury is comprised of three main nursing courses, which are all preceded by courses such as psychology, human anatomy and physiology and biology. Each section of courses prepares students to serve as practical nurses in a variety of health care settings. Students interested in the practical nursing program at Roxbury Community College need to have a high school diploma or GED, good moral character and pass a health test and immunization check. North Shore Community College
North Shore Community College is located in Danvers, Massachusetts, which is 30 minutes north of the city of Boston. North Shore Community College offers a certificate of practical nursing program that consists of 42 credits that are spread out over 10 months. Courses in the program include nutrition, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, vocational trends and human development, among others. Students who are interested in the practical nursing program at NSCC must have a high school diploma or GED, as well as pass an academic skills exam, be CPR certified, have health insurance and present the school with three letters of recommendation. Financial aid is available to students who demonstrate financial need.
