Girls love to create crafty items for their rooms.
Girls love a room that reflects their personality, and creating crafts projects to achieve that special look makes it even more fun. With these crafts, girls can choose colors and fabrics to match their individual style, and make their room shine with their own creations.
No-Sew Pillow
With two bandanna scarves, make a no-sew pillow for your bed.
With just two 22-inch bandanna scarves and a 12-inch pillow form, create a darling pillow for your bed. Lay the scarves together, wrong sides facing each other. With a sharp scissors, cut the scarves together, making 3-inch deep cuts all around the edges, every 3/4 inch. Put the pillow form in between the scarves. Tie one strip from the top to the strip underneath, all around the edges, in double knots. The result -- a cute pillow for your bed that you didn't have to sew.
CD Holder
A colorful feather boa can line the edge of your CD box.
With a 6-inch-square box, create a cool CD holder. Carefully cut the flaps off the box with a utility knife. Line the insides of the box with felt or foam, cut in 6-inch-square pieces, and glue in place. Cover the outside of the box in colorful pieces of foam or fabric and glue in place. Glue a coordinating feather boa around the top of the box. Use old CDs, buttons or ribbon to attach to the sides for decoration.
Web of Memories
Wrap colorful yarn around a hanger to display treasured memories.
Bend a wire hanger into a diamond shape. Cut five 5-foot pieces of different types and colors of yarn. Tie the first piece to the bottom of the hanger hook. Wrap the yarn around the hanger, crisscrossing it and making a web design. Repeat with the four other pieces, tying each one in place at the ends. Wrap a thicker piece of yarn around the hook and tie a bead at the end. Display your hanger on the wall and tuck in cards, letters, buttons and pictures in your web of memories.
