Flour is an essential part of any kitchen, but many people do not actually own a flour duster. There is no need to run out to the local kitchen and bathroom store and purchase a $20 or $30 piece of plastic, especially when there is a very simple way to make your own duster. Instructions
Making your homemade flour duster
1. Cut the foot section off of the leg of a set of pantyhose. This can be a brand new pair, or an old pair that has been been through the washer.
2. Fill the foot section of pantyhose with flour, and tie a knot in the open end.
3. Pat the object you wish to coat with flour with the pantyhose foot. This should be used more for objects like cutting boards and counter tops, not the food itself.
4. Store the flour duster in a jar or container when it is not in use. This will prolong the life of the flour by keeping it fresh and will prevent it from drying out.
