How You Can Revive A California Duster

The California Car Duster Company states that its products are safe on any vehicle, including custom and classic cars.

The California Car Duster became popular in the 1980s for its dusting powers. The Duster has since been marketed in all kinds of shapes and sizes, as well as for different applications and can be found in stores and on late-night infomercials. When it comes to car detailing, the California Duster boasts that it won't scratch exterior paint. It will lift dust, reducing the amount of car washes your vehicle needs. It's also simple and easy to use.

Instructions

1. Take your California Car Duster out of the case and shake it vigorously. This will remove any excessive debris that may have collected in the paraffin wax-treated cotton strands that make up the duster. This helps--with the guarantee from the company--that the duster won't scratch your car's paint.

2. Dust your car with the Duster. According to the California Duster company, the Duster works best once it has been soiled. After two or three uses, the duster should be properly broken in.

3. Shake your Duster out once you are finished dusting your vehicle. This will help prevent excessive debris from accumulating in the Duster and getting stuck in the cotton strands while being stored.

4. Comb through the cotton strands on your Duster, using your fingers. If strands are stuck together or debris is stuck in the Duster, running your fingers through the strands can release them from one another and eliminate any stuck-on debris.

5. Wash your California Duster if you think it is too soiled. Wash the Duster by hand, using lukewarm water and a mild soap. A mild detergent like Woolite is recommended by the California Duster company for washing the Duster.

6. Dry your California Duster. It is important to air dry the Duster and not put it in a clothes drier. A clothes drier can shrink the Duster, so it doesn't properly fit on its handle and it can melt the paraffin wax off of the Duster, causing it to not be as effective in dusting your vehicle.
