How You Can Marble Paper

Printed stationary and scrapbooking paper can be pricey. Learn to marble paper yourself and save money on specialized papers. Make paper that has the exact color combinations that you need for your projects. With a few supplies and some practice you can produce beautiful pieces of marbled paper.

Instructions

1. Cover your work area with newspapers. Lay down several layers so that the area is absorbent.

2. Fill a container, wider than the paper you will marble, with water. Add a drop of dish washing liquid.

3. Drizzle liquid paints into the water. Gently drizzle the paint so that it floats on the top of the water.

4. Stir the paint into the water using a toothpick or straw. Gently stir the paint so that it looks marbled on the water, not all mixed together.

5. Hold the paper horizontally in both hands. Pull the edges up so that the paper forms a U shape.

6. Place the bottom of the U gently on the top of the water. Slowly lower both edges into the water. Immediately pull the paper out of the water.

7. Lay the wet paper paint side up on an absorbent surface to dry. Let the paper dry for several hours.
