How You Can Decorate With Pink & Whitened For Any Baby Shower Celebration

Brighten dull corners with pink and white balloons.

Themed baby showers turn a generic celebration into an elegant affair. Dress up the venue in pink and white for a baby shower celebration that welcomes the arrival of a girl and makes the mother feel special. There are many shades of pink to choose from, ranging from baby pink to deep pink. Depending on personal preference, you can use the same hue of pink throughout the venue, or use different shades for a burst of color.

Instructions

1. Wind a length of silver ribbon around the end of a white helium balloon. Allow the balloon to float to the ceiling, with the ribbon hanging down to the floor. Cut the ribbon at a point slightly above your head. Repeat the process of securing lengths of silver ribbons around pink and white balloons to fill the ceiling with color.

2. String a clothesline across the room, securing its ends to the walls with removable tape. Hang pink and white mitts, booties, baby vests, caps, onesies, sleeping suits and bibs to the wire with clothespins.

3. String smaller clotheslines made from pink or white ribbons across windows, doors or over an unused fireplace. Hang a small collection of pink and white garments or assorted items, such as pacifiers and toys over each.

4. Create attractive floating arrangements using pink and white roses. Clip excess stem length down to 1/2-inch on each bloom and put it into a glass container half-filled with water. Place scented candles into or around each container. Alternatively, put an equal number of long-stemmed pink and white roses in a clear glass vase for an attractive arrangement.

5. Stencil storks, diaper pins, baby bottles and bibs on white and pink construction paper and cut over the lines. Apply a thin bead of blue around the edge of each cutout and sprinkler pink or silver glitter out outline the shapes. Once dry, punch a hole through the top of each cutout and extend a length of pink or white ribbon through each. Hang the decorative cutouts around doorknobs, window latches, lampshades, curtain rods and other areas for added effect.

6. Cover the chair the expectant mother will use when opening her presents in a white silk slipcover. Wind a 24-inch-wide length of pink tulle around the center back of the backrest and extend its ends to the front. Wrap the ends of the tulle into a large decorative bow.

7. Spread a white cloth on the refreshment table. Place pink plates, cups and cutlery over it. Fill large bowls with pink and white jellybeans or candies. Insert over-sized pink and white lollipops into flowerpots stuffed with foam.
