Suggestions For A Sleepover Slumber Party

There rarely has to be a reason to want to throw a slumber party. Kids can get the urge over just about anything at all. When your child wants to have a slumber party, there are things that can be done to make the party more than just your typical sleepover. Picking a slumber party theme can add in more entertainment for the guests and help make your child's party memorable.

Camping Adventures

A camping-themed sleepover party works for both boys and girls. With this slumber party theme, guests bring their best camping gear for a night of fun. Instead of crowding into a living room, let the kids take the party outside into tents. If you or any guests have tents that hold a larger number of people, this will work best so that the party doesn't have to be split up. Set up a campsite, then help the kids build a fire and make sure it is properly contained. Kids can then have fun exploring nature and roasting marshmallows. For dinner, let kids prepare hobo packs over the fire with adult help; hobo packs are foil-wrapped foods that are cooked using the fire and can contain things like burger patties, chicken and vegetables. As night falls, the kids can sit around the fire and tell each other ghost stories to try and scare themselves before bed.

Gaming Tournaments

Games are a fun part of slumber parties, but they can also be the main focus. Gaming sleepovers keep kids entertained and are great for older kids and younger kids alike. For this kind of slumber party, a fair amount of games should be on hand for kids to entertain themselves with. The type of game depends upon the taste of the child throwing the party, as well as the guests invited. Some kids may want to throw a party competing against each other in a variety of board games. Others may wish to have video game or computer game events. Supply the kids with plenty of snacks and drinks and stay somewhere nearby to act as a possible referee for any disputes. The gaming can continue until the first person decides to go to bed or until a designated time set beforehand.

Hollywood Fantasies

Many people have fantasies about the glamorous life, and having a slumber party is an excuse to embrace that fantasy. For a Hollywood slumber party, pick out the most posh decorations and activities you can. Set the slumber party area up with decorations reminiscent of Hollywood, with feather boas and anything sparkly. Kids can engage in dress-up games, wearing fancy outfits and pretending to be navigating the red carpet. Supply them with a snack table set up like a crafts table on a film shoot to make them feel even more like movie stars. For even more Hollywood fun, the kids could perform acting skits with each other to show off their talents.
