A handheld fan can be very useful for keeping cool in warm weather. Sometimes just moving a little air can make a big difference in your comfort level as you sit in the heat of the day.
Making your own handheld fans is an easy project that even children will enjoy doing. You can decorate your card stock pieces and turn them into your own personally designed handheld fans.
Instructions
1. Place the card stock on a work surface in front of you with the long edges on the top and bottom. Place the point of the compass at the bottom left corner. Extend the compass to reach the top left corner.
2. Draw an arc between the top left corner down to the bottom edge of the card stock. Carefully cut along the arc line.
3. You will need two cut-out pieces of card stock to complete one fan. Use this first piece as a pattern.
4. Decorate each of the fan pieces as desired. Markers and crayons can add color and embellishments can add flair. The fan shapes will be matched up, so be sure to decorate both outer sides.
5. Match up the two halves of the fan. Place a large craft stick at the bottom corner and sandwich it in between the two halves so that the stick is extending out as a handle.
6. Glue the two fan halves together around the craft stick to finish the fan.
