An iconic costume idea is the classic Vegas showgirl.
Halloween costumes are inspired by periods in time, famous people and unforgettable places. Las Vegas inspired costumes offer a wide array of choices for men, women and even children. Historic performers, iconic showgirls and celebrity staples are all options that represent the ever-exciting and costume-ready city of Las Vegas.
Elvis
Be "the king" for a night in a Viva Las Vegas Elvis costume.
Elvis is a world famous music and performing icon. The streets of Las Vegas are lined with Elvis impersonators, making an Elvis costume, specifically the Vegas Elvis a perfect Halloween costume. This Elvis would wear a white jump suit with a large, over-sized collar, adorned with a scarf around the neck and gold rimmed sunglasses. To finish off the costume, an Elvis style wig, complete with sideburns, will have you ready to marry a whimsical couple at the Graceland Chapel in Vegas.
Welcome to Las Vegas Sign
Be the sign of a good time with a quick crafts project.
For a less human take on your costume, be the sign that welcomes everyone to Vegas, the sign that signals the entry to "Sin City." Search the Web for a good, clear photo of the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign and use it as a reference when you use bright color paint or markers on a large piece of butcher paper. Get an old cardboard box from the grocery store and glue or tape the drawing to the cardboard. Either drape the box over your head or tape handles made out of cardboard to the back so you can put your arms through.
Vegas Staples: Showgirls and Card dealers
Vegas wouldn't be vegas without the card dealers.
Celebrities in their iconic nature, you may choose to go with Vegas staples, the showgirl or the casino card dealer. A dealer usually wears a shiny vest with a white shirt and black pants. Make a sticker with your favorite casino name to affix to the vest and top it off with a few decks of cards in your pockets. The showgirl is all about glamor and glitter. Wear a bright colored, short dress. Accessorize the outfit with a large feather headdress and a boa.
Rat Pack
Another idea is to go back to the golden age of Vegas performers with the Rat Pack. The Rat Pack was comprised of the ever famous Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Dean Martin. Have a group dress up like all the members or just represent one in a disheveled black tuxedo, slicked hair and a microphone.
