Suggestions For Painting An Electric Guitar Wall Mural

Create a guitar mural on your wall.

Acoustic guitars are beautiful instruments, and their image painted on a wall can have its own meaning for each person. Acoustic guitar wall murals are one way to express your obsession with guitars and to illustrate how the guitar can be seen in many different contexts. Consider some ideas for a guitar wall mural before you start painting.

Guitar Art

Let your guitar wall mural reflect the designs already on your guitar if you had the guitar custom painted. Paint the mural background using the design painted on your guitar. Paint a solid acoustic guitar outline in the middle of the mural background using a color that contrasts with the background. For example, if the background colors are black and white, paint a solid guitar outline in orange for contrast. Paint in black strings where they would start on either end of the guitar, but leave out all other features.

Tower of Guitars

Paint a tower of guitars made from guitars going in all directions, pointed up, sideways and pointed upside down. Start with a wide base near the bottom of the wall, and give it perspective by narrowing it further up to fade off into the distance. Paint in the name of your favorite guitar makers on the stocks of the guitars. Have the strings of some guitars twining up the tower together to look like tangled vines.

Staff Guitar

Draw giant treble and bass clef staffs on your wall, and outline them in black paint with silver highlighting. Paint a large acoustic guitar diagonally across the staffs, with the neck resting on the treble clef staff so that the tuning keys are arranged as treble notes.

Guitar Animal

Paint your wall mural to reflect your love of guitars and your favorite animal. For example, you could create a guitar with large wings on each side, red eyes staring out from near the tuning pegs and a feather crest at the stock top if you like eagles. Or you could paint a large guitar on the wall, and fill it in with a menagerie of animals, with a giraffe's neck and head for the neck and head of the guitar. Crouching lions could decorate the rounded parts, and a scaly snake could mimic mother of pearl inlay that traces the outline of the guitar.

Smashed Guitar

Paint a mural of what it would look like if you threw your guitar against the wall. A black spot near the left ceiling corner could be the sound hole. The bridge could look like it was flung on another area of the wall with a couple of broken guitar strings hanging from it. The body could be broken jaggedly into two pieces. The neck could be broken into a V shape, with some guitar strings trailing away from the tuning pegs.

Tiny Guitar

Paint your mural wall a solid dark red. Paint a large open black acoustic guitar case on the wall, and glue case buckles where they should go on the cover. Paint a tiny upright acoustic guitar inside the case at the bottom.
