Choose a party theme your teenage girl will love.
Teenage girls are one of nature's most erratic forces, but that does not mean that you cannot plan an indoor party for them that they will love. Though teenage girls change their favorite television shows, colors and even boyfriends as often as they change their shoes, there are some indoor party ideas that will delight them no matter what their favorites are this week.
Makeover Party
Teenage girls are often interested in makeup and the latest hairstyles, so a makeover party will likely be enthusiastically received. Decorate the house like a beauty salon. Make a poster board sign with the name of the "salon" in glittery paint. Set up various stations for hair and makeup. Include items like curlers, tinted and glitter hairspray and various shades of eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. If the girls are old enough, you could also allow them to use straightening or curling irons, but be sure to supervise them closely. After each has been made over, let the girls take photos that can be printed for each of the girls to take home.
Jewelry-Making Party
Another thing that teenage girls love is jewelry, so a jewelry-making party should be right up their alley. Set up a long table and cover it with a cloth instead of paper or plastic, to keep dropped beads from rolling away as easily. Buy an assortment of beads, bead wire and jewelry findings at your local craft store. Place the beads in separate small bowls. Cut out pictures of beaded jewelry from magazines or print some from the Internet, and scatter them on the table for the budding jewelry artists to gain inspiration for their pieces. Add tools like jewelry pliers, rulers and wire cutters, as well as instructions on how to attach the jewelry findings.
Karaoke Party
Teenage girls usually love music, so throw a karaoke party. Start the party by letting the girls design their own rock star costumes. Have a box filled with feather boas, Mardi gras beads, old denim or leather jackets and a selection of hats. Also include face paint, fake tattoos and spray-on glitter. After the girls have decked themselves out, take photos of them in rock star poses for their album cover. Set up a karaoke machine, and let the girls sing their hearts out.
