Steps To Make A Robin Hood Paper Hat

You can make a Robin Hood hat out of newspaper.

If your child enjoys reading about Robin Hood and his Merry Men, she may want to dress up like Robin Hood for Halloween or for a school play. If you are buying the Robin Hood costume from a costume store, it may or may not come with a hat. Fortunately, you can make a Robin Hood hat using simple materials, such as newspaper and acrylic paint, that are often found in a classroom or art room.

Instructions

1. Place a folded sheet of newspaper in front of you with the fold facing away from you.

2. Touch the top two corners together, then bring them toward the center of the paper. Flatten down the folds.

3. Bring the bottom edge up over the folded corners, and flatten the fold.

4. Flip the paper over, and fold the other bottom edge up over the other side, as before. Flatten the fold.

5. Paint the folded hat with brown acrylic paint, and allow the paint to dry.

6. Staple an ostrich plume feather on the inside of the brim so that it sticks out of the back of the hat, like Robin Hood's hat would have appeared.
