If you're planning a summer wedding, consider turning your ceremony program into a beautiful fan. This fan will not only keep your wedding guests up-to-date on what's coming up next in the service, it can be decorated to tie in with your wedding theme and colors and it will serve as a sweet keepsake of the occasion. You don't need a lot of crafting experience to make these fans and--if it's going to be muggy and hot--your guests will thank you for them.
Instructions
1. Design your wedding program on the computer so that it has two halves side-by-side: one side should be decorated with your names, the date, and pretty motifs or photographs that fit your wedding theme, the other side should contain information such as the names of the wedding party, the songs, the performers and the readers. Print the programs on the card stock and fold each one in half like a book, with the printed sides facing out.
2. Drill a hole centered ½ inch from the bottom of each craft stick. Thread a 6-inch length of ribbon through the hole and add charms or beads to the ribbon if you're using them. Knot the ribbon ends together.
3. Make a light pencil mark halfway up the craft stick. Open the program and make a light pencil mark at the center point of the right bottom half. Affix strips of tape to the top edge, right side and bottom edge of this half, and to the front and back of the top half of the craft stick. Center the stick on the right half of the program so that half of the stick hangs out the bottom. Fold the program together carefully and press to seal.
