Peacock
Peacocks closely resemble turkeys, except that they are much more colorful. The best time to make this craft is when you study animals in your science class. Learn how to classify animals and compare similarities between a peacock and a turkey. Also discuss their differences. When you are done, you can make this wonderful peacock on a shrinky dink sheet. Have fun watching it shrink down several sizes when you place it in the oven.
Instructions
1. Buy a package of shrinky dink sheets. Check your local craft store first. If they don't have any, you can head to the website listed at the bottom of this article.
2. Pull out a shrinky dink sheet smooth side down. You will be coloring on the rough side.
3. Use a black pencil crayon to draw an outline of a peacock. If you are not sure how to draw a peacock, you can always trace one. Just slide a picture of a peacock underneath of your shrinky dink sheet. It is clear, so you will be able to see the whole peacock just fine.
4. Color the peacock in with your pencil crayons. You will want to use a lot of colors, but especially bright blue. Peacocks are beautiful creature that are extremely colorful. You can add some decorations in their feathers as well. Some swirl designs are quite common. Either way make this peacock special and unique.
5. Cut out the peacock with your scissors. Make sure you leave a clear space all the way around. This allows some room for the shrinkage.
6. Heat the oven to 325 degrees F.
7. Place the shrinky dink peacock rough side up on the cookie sheet.
8. Place the shrinky dink peacock in the oven for 60 seconds and remove. Allow to cool and then use.
9. Allow to cool and then use.
