Steps To Make Weddingreception Table decorations In Tall Tower Vases

Make decorative tall tower centerpieces using basic craft supplies.

Hosting a wedding reception is an expensive endeavor. One way to cut costs is to make some of the wedding decorations yourself using basic materials purchased inexpensively from a florist shop or arts-and-crafts supply store. For example, make tall towering centerpieces for each table at the reception that look as beautiful and decorative as those purchased from a professional florist or wedding planner. Making centerpieces yourself also enables you to customize the arrangements using specific flowers and colors.

Instructions

1. Cut an 8-inch high, 4-inch wide piece of florist foam using a knife to make it fit inside a tall tower vase measuring 18 inches high and 6 inches wide.

2. Insert the florist foam into the tall tower vase. Then fill the bottom of the vase with enough water to saturate the foam thoroughly.

3. Cut the ends off the stems of four to six long-stemmed lilies, leaving the stems at least 24 inches long. Insert the cut ends of the lilies into the vase, and push the stems into the foam. Position the lilies in the center of the arrangement.

4. Cut the ends off the stems of 12 to 18 long-stemmed roses, leaving the stems at least 24 inches long. Insert the cut ends of the roses into the vase, and push the stems into the foam. Position the roses around the perimeter of the lilies.

5. Cut the ends off the stems of 10 to 12 sprigs of baby's breath, leaving the stems at least 24 inches long. Insert the cut ends of the baby's breath into the vase, and push the stems into the foam. Position the baby's breath around the outside of the roses, hanging slightly over the edge of the vase.

6. Fill the top of the vase with flat opalescent marbles to disguise the florist foam inside the vase.

7. Cut a piece of 3-inch-wide ribbon using scissors to measure 24 inches long. Tie the ribbon into a bow around the middle of the tall tower vase to complete the arrangement.
