Enjoy a ride after your black, white and gold-themed wedding.
Black and white create an immediate impact. When paired with gold, even if the gold is only the new wedding bands on your left hand, the contrast becomes classic as the richness of the gold brings in a new layer to the design. Bring in all three colors equally into your summer wedding, or choose one as the dominate color, as you plan the d cor for the special day.
Wedding Party
Go for a striking silhouette as you pair a white, filmy, column gown with a black belt, gold buckle and heels or wear a delicate dress with a sheer overlay containing gold beading. Carry the gold beading into the veil attached to a gold tiara on your head. Dress the groom and his men in a white tuxedo, black vest with a gold and black pinstriped tie. The bridesmaids may wear an after five black cocktail dress with gold accents on the black belt and shoes. Gold jewelry adorns all members of the bridal party.
Chapel
Place a large black marquee sign next to the entryway of the chapel. Print the message of your names and wedding date in white letters outlined in gold. Carry this theme into your own fabrics for a more modern look, or choose a printed or damask fabric. Decorate the chapel with the message fabric as you drape this fabric across the back of the last pew. Have bridesmaids and groomsmen each hold a large sign overhead, in the same color details, with the letter of your first names. After the ceremony, have them turn the sign around to spell out your last name.
Reception
Bring the signs to the reception and place them along the wall, with the marque sign at the entryway. Hang white paper lanterns from the ceiling with black oriental characters outlined in gold on the outside of the lanterns. Place black satin linens on the table and use the message fabric as a table runner. Weave the message fabric through the chairs and gather into a bow with gold beads on one side. Set a white menu, with black lettering outlined in gold, under a clear charger. Wrap the silver inside a folded black napkin tied with the message fabric.
Bouquet and Centerpieces
Mix black and gold feathers with delicate, creamy, white tulips for a bouquet and centerpiece. Place the tulips inside the bouquet and build a layer of black and then gold feathers around the flowers. Wrap the bouquet with black and gold ribbon. Choose a black square vase for your centerpiece design as you place gold feathers, quills pointing inward, and set the vase on top. Group a bunch of tulips together and place them into the vase. Add tiny white candles to black votives around the display.
