Feathered mask
Kids love wearing bird masks for Halloween, at a costume party or just for play. If a special kid in your life wants a bird mask, instead of buying one, you can make a mask that is tailored to fit the child's personality.
Instructions
1. Fold the paper plate in half and cut along the crease.
2. Paint one of the halves of the paper plate. You can use any color paint you like. Let the paint dry before you continue.
3. Use your scissors to make two holes in the paper plate that will be the bird's eyes. The holes should be 3 inches from the top of the rounded edge of the plate and 2 inches apart.
4. Make a beak for the bird by cutting a small triangle out of the paper plate half you have not used and color it yellow. The triangle should measure 3 inches long by 2 inches wide at the bottom. Fold the triangle in half and unfold so the crease in the middle sticks out. Then glue it onto the mask directly in the middle with the point of the triangle in between the bird's eyes.
5. Glue feathers all around the rounded edge of the bird mask.
6. Tape 1 inch of a popsicle stick to either side of the mask with the remaining section of the stick hanging down to be used as a handle.
