Hot Glue Projects

Hot glue can be used for a variety of crafts.

Hot glue is a mixture of polypropylene and resin that is solid at room temperature but when heated will turn into a liquid. It is easy to apply and cools quickly, which makes it ideal for many craft projects. There are many decorative and ornamental craft projects that can be completed using hot glue

Wreaths

Plain wreaths can be purchased from the craft store and then decorated using a hot glue gun. Hot glue can be used to stick a variety of different objects to the wreath. For a fall wreath, small plastic vegetables or fruits can be used to symbolize the harvest, while a summer wreath can be decorated with vibrant silk flowers.

Fascinators

Fascinators are large, decorative hairpieces. A fascinator can be made simply by hot gluing silk flowers, beads or feathers to a hairband, barrette or comb. Fascinators are typically worn on the side of the head, though they may occasionally be worn on the top. Large fascinators are more dramatic and suitable for more formal clothing, while smaller ones can be complement more casual clothing.

Napkin Rings

Plain plastic napkin rings can be ornamented with sea shells for a nautical feel or small silk flowers for casual, summer look. Alternately, you may choose to cut segments from a cardboard toilet paper tube and cover them with the fabric of your choice using hot glue.

Picture Frames

Cheap plastic and wooden picture frames can be purchased from discount stores and then hot glue can be used to cover them with decorative objects. Sea shells or beach pebbles can be used for a frame that holds a family beach picture, while orange and red fake leaves can be used for a picture featuring an autumn hayride.
