Crafts For Kids Chef'S Hats

Keep your kids entertained with simple crafts.

Arts and crafts are a great way to get kids using the right side of their brains. For birthday parties, sleepovers or just those rainy days when they can't play outside, it's great to have crafts on hand to keep your little ones entertained. Making chef's hats is easy and fun and requires no sewing. Get your kids looking like little chefs in no time.

Supplies

For this craft you will need a large white poster board. You will also need white tissue paper (20-by-30-inch sheets), clear tape and paper clips. Most of these supplies can be purchased at a craft or office store. The quantity of supplies you need will depend on how many kids are making the hats.

Making the Hat

Cut the poster board into strips that are 25 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. Size the poster board to the size of your child's head and paper clip the ends together. Fold each sheet of tissue paper in half on the long side. Roll pieces of tape so that the sticky side is outside and place them all around the head on the poster board. Take the folded pieces of tissue paper and strip them across the top of the head, attaching them to the tape on the sides. Do this until the head is completely covered.

Finishing Up

Turn the hat inside out and puff it up.

Uses

Children love to play dress up. Your child can make this hat to play chef with their friends, or they can put it on and help you out in the kitchen. It will be a great addition to their dress-up clothes.
