Use your sewing skills to replicate a feathered boa with fleece fabric.
Use polar fleece to create a warm and fluffy boa for kids by combining basic sewing and cutting skills. Use all one color for the fleece or make each layer a different color to achieve a variegated effect. You can adjust the length of the boa by cutting the fleece as long or as short as you would like prior. Allow about an hour to complete your boa project.
Instructions
1. Cut the fleece using the rotary cutter and mat. Cut into four, 9-inch strips. Cut from selvedge to selvedge, so you end up with four strips that are 9 inches by 60 inches each. If you have a toddler or shorter child, cut a few inches off the length to make a shorter finished project.
2. Stack the strips on top of one another, aligning the edges.
3. Stitch the strips together through the center. Stitch the entire long length of the pile from one end to the other. Fleece clings to itself, so there is no need to pin the layers together.
4. Snip the fleece into fringe with the scissors. Snip along the long length of each piece, cutting into the fleece every inch to make a fluffy fringe. Cut about 3 inches in toward the center line of stitching.
5. Shake the boa to fluff it and wear or use as desired.
