How You Can Hang A Blue Bird House

Blue birds are bright, beautiful song birds.

Homeowners with yards and gardens often seek to tempt song birds to their property for pest control, song and entertainment. Blue birds are popular because of their bright coloration and sweet song. Tempt birds through bird feeders, bird seed and birdhouses, but make sure that they hang in appropriate places for the birds.

Instructions

1. Select a location that's appropriate for blue birds. These birds like open, uncrowded areas so choose a spot that has plenty of space around it. Look for areas with tall, sparse trees or fences that overlook greens.

2. Measure the height of your location. Hang a blue bird house at least 6 feet off the ground, and higher if you can. The height gives the birds safety and a sense of security, and improves your chances of birds moving in.

3. Hang the birdhouse using a nail or any hardware that came with it. Hammer the nail or hardware into the tree or fence you've chosen and secure the birdhouse to the hardware.
