Give her an original birthday party she won't forget.
A fifth birthday is special for a little girl, and she deserves a fun party with all of her friends to celebrate her big day. Find an original theme idea or activity for your five-year-old, and the party planning will nearly take care of itself. Select a fun theme and throw a party at home for her and all of her friends, or go somewhere special for a different kind of birthday party that all the girls will love.
Princess Party
Every little girl wants to be a princess, so for her fifth birthday, why not make her feel like one? Throw a princess party in your home by converting a room to a magical fairytale land. Cover the walls and ceiling with purple and pink tulle, white twinkling lights and lots of glitter. Set up a throne for your princess in the front of the room, with her name spelled out in glitter paint or gemstone. Give each girl a tiara and a wand, and adorn them with candy rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Tea Party
Let your five-year-old host her very first tea party with all of her friends. This is a fun activity that will make all the girls feel like grown-ups, exactly what they want. Invite the girls to come dressed in their finest pearls, gowns and shoes. Set up one big table in the center of the room, covered in fine linens, china and fresh flowers. Place a pretty teapot in the center of the table, and a dainty teacup at each place. Also, make a variety of colorful finger foods and treats. Give each girl a pair of white gloves, a feather boa and a tiara to complete her fine look.
Little Chef Party
Throw a party where the girls can feel like adults and learn a skill. Invite the girls to your house for a cooking party. There are also some cooking schools that offer special classes and host these kinds of events. Teach the girls how to make a few simple dishes, such as English muffin pizzas or no-bake cookies. Package up the treats for the girls to take home, and give copies of the recipes with detailed instructions on how to make their treats at home to their parents. However, be sure to remind the girls to never to do anything in the kitchen with asking an adult for help first.
