Steps To Make A Marriage Celebration Tree

Wedding celebration trees offer guests a way to write wedding wishes.

Finding unique ways to embellish a banquet room or outdoor area for a wedding provides a memorable setting and adds personality to the space. Wedding celebration trees enhance the d cor, color scheme and theme, while providing an interactive centerpiece for guests to enjoy and for newlyweds to take home as a keepsake. Begin with an artificial or live tree, and implement a number of decorating ideas to make your wedding celebration tree dazzle on the big day.

Instructions

1. Spray paint the tree gold or silver for a bold appearance, or keep the tree its natural wood color. Allow the tree to dry for about one hour after painting.

2. Place the tree in a planter that matches the wedding d cor and color scheme. Tie a ribbon or tulle around the planter to decorate it and give it a more polished look. Fill in the top of the planter around the tree stem with stones for an earthy look, or glass beads for a formal theme.

3. Pull the branches of the tree outward and bend them downward so the tree looks fuller and so that objects can hang from the branches.

4. Decorate the branches of the tree. Dangle theme-related items such as paper butterflies, leaves, wedding bells or wedding rings from the branches for a kitschy, fun appearance. Drape strings of crystal beads around the branches for a chandelier effect appropriate for a more formal d cor.

5. Use the hole punch to make holes in various wallet-size pictures of the couple. Pull a ribbon through the hole and tie the ends together. Loop the pictures onto the branches of the tree.

6. Punch holes through wallet-size pieces of colored cardstock, pull the ribbon through and tie the ribbon ends. Leave these, along with pens, in a basket in front of the tree so guests can write wedding wishes for the new couple. People can hang their wedding wishes from the tree throughout the reception. You may want to hang some in advance so people get the idea.

7. Clip folded dollar bills to the branches to create a money tree. Leave a small basket of paper clips in front of the tree for guests to use.

8. Place the tree on the gift table, making it a focal point that people can interact with, or create multiple wedding celebration trees to use as centerpieces.
