Suggestions For Dressup Party Games For Grown ups

Dress-up party games aren't just for kids. Adults enjoy dress-up games just as much as youngsters. Choosing a specific theme for the party allows the games to take a specific direction in the planning and execution phases. Structured party games keep the guests entertained and the party moving throughout the night. Simple adaptations allow the dress-up games to work for any children who may also attend the adult dress-up party.

Costume Contest

Invite the guests to come dressed in creative costumes. If the party has a specific theme, suggest that the guests use the theme as inspiration. At the party, have the guests parade across a stage area to show off the costumes. Award prizes to the most creative costumes. Other awards such as most colorful, funniest or craziest costume offer more fun for the costume competition.

Dress-Up Relay

Set up an adult relay race using a dress-up activity to add a challenge to the race. Provide each team with an identical set of dress-up clothes based on the theme of the party. The first person on each team puts on the costume, races to the other end of the playing area and returns to the starting line. She then takes off the outfit and passes it to the next player, who repeats the process. The first team to have all players put on the dress-up clothes and complete the course wins the game.

Dress-Up Challenge

Provide a variety of recyclable items or random pieces of clothing for this challenge. Ideas for recyclable materials include egg cartons, aluminum foil, cardboard boxes or plastic wrap. Divide the guests into small groups, with one person in each group designated as the model. The teams have a set amount of time to use the provided materials to create a dress-up costume for the model. At the end of the time period, the teams show their creations with a prize going to the most creative outfit.

Circle Dress-Up Game

Gather a variety of adult dress-up items in a box or garbage bag. Choosing funny items such as bunny slippers, silly hats and feather boas makes the game more interesting. The players sit in a circle, passing the box of dress-up clothes around the circle as music plays. When the music stops, the person holding the box pulls out one item without looking. He must wear the item for the remainder of the game. The music begins and the process repeats until all items in the box are used.
