Steps To Make A Chicken From A Paper Plate

This simple craft takes its inspiration from the farm.

Old MacDonald on his farm never had a chicken this easy to create. Whether your children are learning about birds or farm animals, they will enjoy making a simple paper chicken complete with feathers. Using little more than a few paper plates, you can create a craft worthy of a real-life farm.

Instructions

1. Fold one paper plate in half. Staple the top of the folded plate together to keep it folded.

2. Cut out an oval shape from the other paper plate to serve as the chicken's head. Glue on the googly eyes to the face.

3. Trace a child's hand with outstretched fingers on red paper to form the comb on the top of the chicken's head. Cut out the comb and glue it to the top of the chicken's head.

4. Cut out a triangle from orange construction paper to make a beak. Glue the beak onto the face. Glue the head onto the chicken body.

5. Trace a child's hand with fingers together on the third paper plate to make tail feather. Cut out the tail feather and glue it to the end of the chicken opposite the side with the head.

6. Apply glue to the chicken's body. Attach yellow and white craft feathers and allow to dry.
