How You Can Trim A Christmas Tree With Pink Lights

Pink might be unconventional for Christmas decor, but it's a bold and charming presence.

If you are tired of the old standard of red and green Christmas decor, consider incorporating pink as a new hue in your Christmas decorations. A string of pink lights adds a festive element to traditional holiday motifs. Get creative for your holiday decorations by designing new themes for your Christmas tree that center on your pink lights. These themes could include vintage, feminine and even tropical themes.

Instructions

Color Choices

1. Complement the pink lights with similar colors for your tree. For example, soft greens, pale yellows, light blue and creamy whites are colors that suit this color palette. These soft pastels are unconventional color choices for a tree, but combine them with traditional patterns and shapes to stay in theme with the Christmas motif.

2. Add glitter to your holiday ornaments to better match your pink lights. Any traditional Christmas ornament can receive a whole new look by simply spraying the outside of the ornament with glue and rolling the piece in glitter. Silver, white, pink and pale blue glitter will complement your pink lights color scheme.

3. Pick one contrasting color to trim your tree. For example, choose pink and pale green for a softer take on conventional Christmas colors. Along with your pink lights, choose apple, mint or yellow-green ornaments and garlands to trim your tree.

Theme-Based

4. Add a woman's touch to your Christmas tree. Along with the pink lights you wrap around the base of the tree, choose ornaments with floral patterns for a delicate feminine motif.

5. Try a tropical theme for your Christmas tree. Pink is a color often included in tropical design. For example, your tree could have a Florida theme by featuring ornaments in the shape of pink flamingos, sandals, beach balls or even mermaids. To keep the theme on point for Christmas, combine these ornaments with traditional pieces.

6. Go for a vintage theme with your tree trimmings. Pink might not seem like a traditional Christmas color, but it actually takes on a very retro feel when paired with the right pieces. Trim your tree with lace garland in place of ribbon or tinsel to coordinate with this vintage theme.
