How You Can Decorate Wire Dress Forms For Table decorations

Wire dress forms make creative and interesting centerpieces for baby showers, bridal showers, fashion shows or an evening dinner party with the ladies. The forms themselves offer height and visual interest to the table, but add decorations for color and to reflect the theme. Make simple dresses for the form or use jewelry and other accessories. Use three dress forms of different sizes for each table so one can face everyone at the table.

Instructions

Clothes

1. Measure the wire dress form around the bust and waist, and the distance from the shoulders to the waist and the waist to the bottom of the form.

2. Cut a piece of satin or shiny fabric 1 inch longer than the bust circumference and 1 inch longer than the distance from the shoulder to the waist. The resulting piece of fabric will be a rectangle. Wrap the fabric around the figure's torso, overlapping it as necessary to follow the shape. Tape the outer flap of fabric in place using double-sided fabric tape.

3. Cut a piece of tulle four times as wide as the original rectangle and long enough to reach from the waist to the bottom of the form. Attach one corner of the tulle to the back of the torso fabric. Apply more double-sided tape along the top edge of the tulle. Wrap it around the waist several times and press the tape securely. Fluff the bottom edge for fullness.

Accessories

4. Drape several necklaces of varying lengths over the neck of the wire forms. Use different colors and styles for more visual interest.

5. Wrap a feather boa loosely around the neck of the form, letting it drape casually in the front and back.

6. Fold a long rectangle of tulle in half. Pin one edge with a safety pin 1/2 inch from the fold. Pin the veil onto the top of the dress form like a wedding veil. The veil should at least reach the waist of the dress form, or it can be long enough to reach the bottom.
