Children'S Activities In Tucson Arizona

Children can hand-feed ostriches at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch.


Tucson is a city located in southern Arizona and is home to more than 350 days of sun each year. This sunny city has many tourist attractions, including a few activities for children. From a zoo to a children's museum, the city has plenty to do to keep your children busy and entertained.


Reid Park Zoo


Reid Park Zoo is a 17-acre zoo with a variety of animals including lions, polar bears, flamingos, tigers, ostriches and elephants. The zoo has programs for children of all ages that include a walk through the zoo, craft activities, a live animal encounter and storytelling. Family night programs are available, which include a flashlight zoo tour and hands-on activities. Kenya Get Wet is an interactive wet area for children that is open daily, except during cold weather. The Reid Park Zoo express train is located near the front gate and offers train rides for a small fee.


Tucson Children's Museum


Tucson Children's Museum offer several hands-on activities and interactive exhibits for children. Some exhibits include Dinosaur World, Pet Vet and Build It. Dinosaur World features three robotic, life-size dinosaurs that move with a video about their behaviors. Children can put together blocks and play on a ball wall in the Build It exhibit. The Pet Vet exhibit allows children to put on a lab coat and "doctor" stuffed animals. Check the museum's website for special events that offer exciting activities for children, such as a paint spinning class, touch tank show and craft activities.


Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch


The Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch is a family owned and operated ranch located on 600 acres. Visitors will find the ranch between Phoenix and Tucson on Interstate 10. Activities at this ranch include the Lorikeet Forest, Monster Truck Tours and Animal Interaction. In the Lorikeet Forest, children can hand-feed and pet lorikeets. The Monster Truck Tour takes guests on a 40-minute tour through the ranch and desert, and allows them to feed the ostriches using a special "fishing pole." Children can also hand-feed deer at this ranch. This ranch has been featured on TV shows including "Extreme Roadside Adventures," "Wild About Animals" and "Good Morning America."


Katana Games


Katana Games is perfect for children who love to play video games. This video game store has a game room featuring the newest games and systems for children to play. The room features an 86-inch projector screen and four flat screen TVs, with most available game consoles and games to play. The store also host birthday parties for children of all ages.
