Steps To Make A Construction Paper Headdress

You can make history projects using craft materials.

If you are teaching elementary-aged students about American history, it is helpful to provide interactive crafts for the kids that are related to the lessons. This can help you maintain your students' attention, and can encourage interest in the subject. You can make an Indian headdress out of basic craft materials that can be found around the classroom, such as construction paper. Once finished, the students can wear the headdresses as they listen to you talk about American history.

Instructions

1. Measure around your head using a measuring tape.

2. Cut out a strip of 2-inch wide construction paper to measure the circumference of your head.

3. Staple the ends of the strip together to secure it.

4. Cut out three to four 6-inch long, 2-inch wide feathers from red, orange, yellow or purple construction paper.

5. Glue the feathers around the strip, and allow the glue to dry completely before wearing the headdress.
