Whiteflower Table decorations

Simple white flowers make beautiful centerpieces.

Flower centerpieces are the traditional choice for home, social-gathering and business-meeting tables. White-flower centerpieces offer a subtle touch of elegance and provide a clean, crisp look to any table. Most any occasion is brightened by adding a beautiful white centerpiece, displaying only one variety of flower or many, depending on the event and the desires of the host.

White Wedding Centerpieces

A bouquet of 20 to 25 white roses mixed with baby's breath is a simple but elegant centerpiece idea for a wedding. Placing the bouquet of flowers into a clear, glass vase helps make the flowers the focal point and keeps the ensemble from being overpowering. White lilies also make for a modest yet stylish centerpiece. Place the lilies in a tall vase, allowing them to sway and droop around the top, or float short-stemmed lilies in a round, glass bowl filled with water. Both lilies and roses are perfect wedding flowers as they both represent purity.

White Christmas Centerpieces

Whether planning a small family get-together or large party, white-flower centerpieces add a touch of Christmas spirit to your celebration. White poinsettias make a beautiful flower centerpiece. Wrap poinsettia pots in red and green Christmas paper and sit them on white lace doilies. For a white-flower centerpiece with a sweet appeal, place white carnations or white chrysanthemums in the carved-out top of a colorful gingerbread house. Add candy canes for an even more festive approach.

Mother's Day Centerpieces

When it comes to mom's special day, try mixing creativity with elegance for a charming, original approach. Allow children or grandchildren to decorate a large can with construction paper, bows, ribbons, buttons and any other creative touches. Fill the decorated can with soil and plant mom's favorite white flowering houseplant. Plants a peace lily or jewel orchid, which produces clusters of tiny white flowers at the end of the stems, in the can. This type of centerpiece continues to provide enjoyment after the celebration does, as mom can place the arrangement in her home to remember the special day.

Party Centerpieces

For a beautiful centerpiece that is both simplistic and sophisticated, place white hydrangeas in a short, round- or oval-shaped vase or in a rustic copper pail. Arrange hydrangea cuttings to look like boutonnieres and tie the white flowers off with ribbon. Place these smaller centerpieces around the table as place settings; small name-cards tied to the ribbons let guests know where they should sit. While carnations work as well but you will need more of the smaller flower to provide the same volume.
