An event famous for its bright colors, sequins and beads, Mardi Gras makes the perfect occasion for a little razzle-dazzle. You can get your pet involved in the fun by fashioning a Mardi Gras costume worthy of New Orleans.
Instructions
1. Drape your pet with strands of festive beads. Twist longer bead strands and loop to create a shorter, pet-sized necklace.
2. Attach feathers to your pet's collar. Colorful and textured, the flowing feathers will make a bold Mardi Gras fashion statement.
3. Create an elegant cape. Find a bold metallic fabric and by the minimal amount you need to cut a cape shape for your pet. For a quick and easy fix, cut out the shape and wrap it around the animal's collar. For a more finished look, sew the edges and add a ribbon to tie the cape.
4. Decorate a small, pet-sized headband with colorful embellishments such as sequins, glitter, rhinestones and feathers.
5. Paint your pets claws, with bright nail polish.
6. Wrap a luxurious feather boa around your pet for instant glamour.
7. Cut a piece of cardboard in the shape of a Mardi Gras mask for your pet. Cut holes for eyes. Staple string to both sides of the mask and tie the mask around your pet's head. Decorate the mask with colorful embellishments for a grand finish.
