Focal point Ideas With Music

Centerpiece Ideas With
Music

Centerpieces add style to your table and create interest for your event. If you are hosting an event for a music lover or a banquet for a musical group, or if you just want to have a musical theme for your next dinner party, it's easy to incorporate music into your decorative centerpieces.

Music Stand

Use a music stand as the focal point of your centerpiece. Purchase small-scale music stands at the craft store or online. Place the stands in the center of your table and display sheet music on them, perhaps the music to a favorite song or a song that is significant to the event. Surround the music stands with flower petals and tealights to create an elegant feel.

Table Runner of Music Notes

Create a low-lying centerpiece with music notes and ribbon. Purchase large music notes from a craft store, or make them yourself out of cardboard or wood. Paint them in your color of choice. Lay a few music notes flat on the table in a circular formation, a straight line or a winding strip. The amount you use will depend on the size of your table and the look you wish to achieve. Cut pieces of wide ribbon. Lay the ribbon flat on the table and wind it through the music notes, making it look like a table runner.

Toy Instruments

If you are having a music-themed children's birthday party, create a fun centerpiece out of toy instruments such as a flute, trumpet or saxophone. Randomly scatter the instruments along the table, or place them in a see-through vase in the center of the table.

Decoupage Wine Bottle

Using recycled wine bottles and sheet music, create a decoupage centerpiece. Cut out patterns or haphazard pieces of sheet music. Apply decoupage glue to the backs of the pieces of paper. Completely cover the wine bottle with paper. Once the pieces have dried, apply two or three coats of decoupage glue to the entire wine bottle. Put a candle or a flower in the bottle and place it in the middle of your table.

CD Tree

Create a CD tree for a table centerpiece. Visit a used music shop to purchase discounted CDs, or use old CDs that you already own. Purchase wispy branches from a floral supply store. Place the branches in a vase to create a sculpture that resembles a tree. Using decorative ribbon, hang the CDs from the branches of the trees. The underside of the CDs creates a prism when light bounces off of it. Placing tealights around the tree will help to create this effect. This is a fun and whimsical look for a centerpiece.
