Tote bags are handy when you go shopping, to carry your school books, craft projects, as a diaper bag, or to carry your library books home. You can make a tote bag out of canvas, cotton, hemp, polyester, or recycle those old denims. Use your imagination to create theme tote bags, for instance wedding, baby, pets, family album, or sports.
Instructions
Tote Bag with Photos
1. Select and edit your photographs. If your photos are not digital, scan and save. Using your imaging software, edit your photos, if there is writing, reverse the photo so it will print correctly.
2. Insert the iron-on transfer sheets with the print surface up or down, according to the way your printer prints. In printer preferences, select "High Quality," then "Print."
3. Measure and cut your fabric for the tote bag. For a 12-inch by 13-inch shopping bag, measure a 24-inch by 13-inch rectangle. Fold the edges for the top of the tote bag and hem.
4. Measure approximately 92 inches of webbing for your strap, stitch the ends together to form a loop. Center your strap on the fabric, with the loops hanging over the top edges, and stitch in place.
5. Position your photos on your tote bag and iron. While warm, carefully remove the transfer sheets. Let cool, turn wrong side out and stitch the side seams.
