Hot Pink & Black Wedding Styles

If you love the way hot pink and black complement one another, showcase that on your wedding day.

Hot pink and black can create a hot color combination for weddings. The femininity of the pink and the masculinity of the black marry to create an eye-catching color scheme, no matter what type of event you're throwing. From formal and elegant to casual and intimate, these two colors provide a color palette any bride can work with to create her dream wedding. Your husband-to-be may not even mind having a pink wedding, as the addition of the black keeps it from becoming too girly or feminine.

Attire

Introduce guests to your color palette from the beginning by bedecking your bridal party in hot pink and black. Depending on the season and the formality of your wedding, you can put your bridal party in pink dresses with black ribbons tied at the waist or vice versa, or you can have them in all-black dresses with hot pink bouquets and a hot pink flower in their hair. Put the men in black suits with pink ties or boutonnieres. For a more formal wedding, consider making black the main focus and keeping the pink strictly to the accessories and details.

Tables

When your guests walk into your reception, give them a "wow" moment by not having your typical white linen-clad tables, but rather black-clothed tables and chairs with hot pink sashes tied around the back of each chair. Use hot pink flowers for your centerpieces and napkins. Instead of a white menu at each place setting, opt to create your menu on hot pink and black stationery personalized with your new name. At less formal weddings, switch this color palette around and use black to accent your hot pink table settings.

Cocktail Hour

Further personalize your wedding by adding a pink and black touch to cocktail hour. Create a personalized bar that serves specialty drinks created just for you that are hot pink. Have your drinks served with black napkins with your name and wedding date embossed in hot pink and offer only black straws and black garnishes for your drinks. Light pink and black candles and create a few pink and black floral arrangements, such as hydrangea balls dyed pink and black to hang strategically around your cocktail hour location.

Decorations and Accents

Create custom centerpieces with your florist in hot pink and black. Place stems of hot pink gerber daisies in black vases and stick faux diamonds in the black centers of each gerber daisy for an added touch. Few people think to decorate any higher in their venue than their centerpieces, but for an added touch for your hot pink and black wedding, suspend black feathers in bouquets from the ceiling. Ask your baker to create a cake using only hot pink and black, such as a hot pink cake with black ribbon around each layer and the first letter of your new last name shimmering in pink and black jewels on top of your cake.
