Steps To Make A Container Can Thanksgiving Poultry Craft

Tin can turkeys make good Thanksgiving decorations as a centerpiece or displayed around other locations in your home. Only a small amount of time and some basic materials are needed to make these cute Thanksgiving crafts. Plus, it's a good way to recycle old tin cans. Follow the steps listed to learn how to make a tin can Thanksgiving turkey craft of your own.


Instructions


1. Lay old newspapers or plastic over a flat work surface to protect it from the hot glue and paint.


2. Use brown craft paint to paint the entire surface of the tin can. Let the can dry completely before handling it further.


3. Make a small circle on brown craft felt to use as the turkeys head.


4. Draw a small waddle on red craft felt using a black marker.


5. Use a marker to outline two small crown shapes on orange felt to use as the turkey's feet. Also outline the shape of a beak on the orange felt.


6. Make 6-8 thin feather shapes on different fall colored craft felt to use as the turkey's feathers.


7. Cut out all the shapes on the different colors of craft felt.


8. Glue the head of the turkey onto the front of the painted tin can, and then glue the waddle shape directly underneath the bottom of the head.


9. Use hot glue to apply the feather to the bottom of the back of the tin can. Glue them in a fan shape along the back of the can.


10. Dab two dots of hot glue at the bottom of the tin can in the front. Apply the feet to the dots of glue.


11. Apply two large wiggly craft eyes to the turkey's head using hot glue.


12. Hot glue the beak to the front of the turkey's head underneath the wiggly eyes.


13. Display your tin can turkey craft on the center of the table or anywhere else that you like.
