Party Games To Experience Like A Group

Plan a few fun group games for your next party

When you're throwing a party for a group of people, it's helpful to have a few game ideas on hand just in case conversation starts to lag. No matter what the age of your guests, you can find a few party games that attendees will enjoy playing together as a group.

Egg Dare

This game can be tailored to the type of guests and how messy you want things to get. Prepare a dozen or more hard-boiled eggs, but leave one out of every dozen raw. Hand an egg to each guest and inform him that one out of 12 is raw. Offer prizes for those who dare to crack their egg on their head. Add a twist by coloring most of the eggs one color with a few odd colors to try to trick guests into thinking the different-colored eggs are the raw ones. If you don't want to deal with a mess, hard-boil all the eggs and simply see who has the guts to take a chance.

Stocking Sack Race

Line guests up in teams or groups, each behind an orange or apple on the floor. Give the first teammate of each group a pair of pantyhose with another orange or apple stuffed into one of the feet. The player ties the pantyhose around her waist and lets the leg with the fruit dangle like a third leg in front of her. When you say "go," players swing their hips to try to get the third leg to hit the apple or orange and guide it across the room to the finish line. Make this a relay race by splitting the teams up on both sides of the room so when one teammate finishes, he ties the stocking around the next teammate and she knocks the fruit back to the other side of the room until all of the players have had a turn.

Prop Skits

Divide guests into two or more groups. Each group is assigned a secret theme, such as "pirates" or "celebrities." In addition, give each group a bag of joke props such as feather boas, air horns or toilet paper. Each group gets 10 to 15 minutes to come up with a skit that incorporates the secret theme and uses all of the props. The goal is to get the other guests to guess the group's secret theme, which can be challenging when props get in the way. Give each group a turn to perform, and then ask the others to make their guesses.
