Game Suggestions For A Kid'S Tea Party

Add tea-inspired games to a tea party.

Gather your daughter's friends together for an afternoon of tea drinking, dressing up and fancy sandwiches. Use tea and teacups as an inspiration for entertaining games and activities that will fit with a tea party theme. Adding tea-themed games will put a festive spin on a kid's tea party.

Sugar Cube Games

A box of sugar cubes provides inspiration for a few games. Set a timer and see who can stack the highest sugar cube tower before time runs out. Or have guests pass a sugar cube around the table with a spoon, with the person dropping it going "out." Continue the game until a winner emerges. Play music while the kids pass the cube around. Kids also can take turns dropping sugar cubes into a tea pot or cup and seeing how many make it in.

Tea Races

Have a tea race for party guests. Fill teapots with tea or juice and have teacups waiting at the finish line. Whoever can get to the teacups and pour the tea in, filling the cups without spilling, will win. Divide the girls into teams if lots of guests are at the party. A variation of this game is to put some full teacups on a tray and have the girls race to a finish line without spilling or knocking the cups off the tray.

Pin The Top On the Tea Pot

Enlarge a picture of a teapot and mount it on posterboard for this variation of pin the tail on the donkey. Make teapot lids out of construction paper and blindfold the girls, letting them aim for putting a lid on the pot. Vary the game by having girls put the handle on a teacup or teapot. Whoever comes closest wins her own pretty teacup or teapot.

Dressing Up

Set out your child's props trunk for a crazy dress-up game. Divide the girls into small groups, letting each group pick its model. Time the girls while they dress up their model to look the most beautiful in a short amount of time. The dressed models strut in front of the other guests who will vote on the prettiest model and best outfit. Stock the trunk with lots of tiaras, feather boas, hats, dresses, necklaces and heels for the girls. If there's time, allow teams to dress more than one girl so each has a chance to strut her stuff.
