Snap cones make great displays for your jewelry.
Wrap-around snap cones are commonly used for displaying jewelry pieces, such as necklaces and bracelets. They come in the form of a half circle, and you snap the ends together to form a cone so when a piece of jewelry is placed over the top, it slides down the cone until it reaches the limits of its width. Snap cones are very handy displays, especially when traveling and packing for jewelry shows. They take up little room in storage, and are easy to use. Making your own snap cone is also easy and quick, since you can make two at a time.
Instructions
1. Trace a 1-foot circle onto the poster board, then trace a second, smaller 4-inch circle inside the circle you just made.
2. Cut out the circles with your scissors, making sure that you have even cuts. If it is not cut evenly, the finished cone will not be stable. Your result should resemble a donut---one large circle with a hole in it. Fold it in half and cut along the folded line so that you have two half circles.
3. Trace the two half circles onto the fabric and cut the shapes out of it. Use the paint brush to apply the glue, then attach the paper to the fabric. Brushing the glue prevents drips, which when dry, will show through the fabric. Lay the half circle on a flat surface and allow the glue to dry before handling. Do this for both half circles.
4. Install the snap fasteners to the top edges of both the half circles. On each half circle, use two snaps, installing them 1 inch apart. Follow the manufacturer's directions for snap installation. Snap the edges together on each cone to complete the display.
