Gifts For Western Enthusiasts

Get a framed oil painting or photograph of a western scene, such as the Grand Canyon.

Western style or themed gifts are easy to find, especially online. You can personalize them to the recipient very easily. For those who love the western feel, purchase home decorations or personal accessories to give as gifts. Men and women enjoy items with a western flair, even if they live far removed from that part of the country.

Blankets

Purchase a woven blanket that depicts a western scene. You can go with craggy mountains, wide open plains or herds of wild horses. If the recipient has a favorite photo of the West, you can send it in online to many companies and get a blanket with the same scene. These blankets are perfect to throw over the back of a couch to use during cold evenings.

Wall Hangings

Similar to the blankets, the wall hangings are woven. They often come with a sleeve at the top to slide a rod through; simply hang it on a large blank wall for decoration. If the recipient doesn't have that much free space in her home, go with an oil painting or framed photograph. It should depict an outdoor scene or something truly western: horses, ranches, cowboys or just the rugged outdoors.

Clothing

If you know the clothing sizes of the recipient, purchase an outfit for him. It doesn't have to be chaps and a vest; go with a T-shirt with a western scene on it, a leather jacket or simply a nice pair of cowboy boots. The boots can be decorative, or you can go with authentic work boots. Cowboy hats work well as gifts. Brown hats are typical, but you can also purchase them in black, white, pink or any other color.

Jewelry

Turquoise is a very western stone; purchase necklaces and earrings using this color. It is often accompanied by silver and leather. Jewelry with feathers is often reminiscent of Native Americans; if the recipient is not flashy, make sure the feathers are small and unobtrusive. For men, purchase a large western-style belt buckle. These often have western scenes engraved in the silver or gold of the buckle.
