Every little girl loves to play dress-up. Make fashion-themed parties glamorous and fun with the addition of glam and glitzy decorations everyone will love seeing and using during the party. Finish with a secret added surprise by letting the guests take home some of the decorations to enjoy for days to come.
Surprise Balloons
Blow up pink, silver and white helium balloons after inserting a small trinket, such as a ring or pendant, into each balloon. Attach coordinating ribbon streamer ties and place around the party area. Each guest pops a balloon at the end of the party to discover her prize.
Balloon Arch
Rent a balloon arch and cover the base with coordinating balloons. Place a sign or banner across the top of the arch proclaiming "Welcome to (Your Child's Name) Fashion Party."
Beaded Chandelier
Decorate your dining room chandelier, located over the fashion makeup and accessories table, with long beaded necklaces and ribbon streamers. Invite the fashion party guests to take a necklace home when they depart.
Set an Elegant Table
Drape your tables with pink satin and add vases of fresh-cut flowers for a beautiful, grown-up touch. Scatter sequins across the tabletop for added glamour.
Chair Covers
Tie a length of colored taffeta, tissue lame, organza or lace around the back of each dining chair in an extra-large bow.
Party Hats
Tie a pretty, elegant party-hat to the back of each of the guest's dining chair with a length of matching satin ribbon.
Decorate Your Wall Mirror
Decorate your dining room mirror, taping ribbon and streamers only around the edge so that the guests may still use it for primping during the fashion party.
Hand Mirrors
Add a pretty hand mirror, decorated with stickers, glued on gemstones, and their name glittered on the back, to each guest's place setting.
Project Runway
Decorate your home's staircase to serve as a runway for the guests to model down when all made up. If there is no staircase, clear a path through the living room or family room. Video the fashion show and burn DVDs to include with the guest's thank-you note.
